Almost two years after the release of “Twilight” and fans wondering about the status of Stewart and Pattinson’s off-screen relationship, the on-screen love birds were revealed to be a couple in August 2009 after they were photographed kissing at a concert. However, it wasn’t until photos of Stewart cheating on Pattinson that fans finally learned just how deep their connection really was.
In July 2012, paparazzi photos of Stewart kissing her married “Snow White and the Huntsman” director Rupert Sanders began make rounds. A source told US Weekly the pair “seemed like they couldn’t get enough” during their steamy makeup session and spent an afternoon searching for secluded locations in LA.
While fans initially believed the images to be photoshopped, a normally private Stewart confirmed their validity. In a statement, she addressed her feelings on the matter and publicly apologized to Pattinson.
“This momentary indiscretion has jeopardized the most important thing in my life, the person I love and respect the most, Rob. I love him, I love him, I’m so sorry,” Stewart stated. “I’m deeply sorry for the hurt and embarrassment I’ve caused to those close to me and everyone this has affected.”
