The Frances McDormand Stolen-Oscar-Statue Caper Gets Weirder

Did you hear that Frances McDormand’s Oscar for best actress was briefly stolen? Meryl Streep really thought she deserved this one. Kidding! It was some guy name Terry.

Terry Bryant, a 47-year-old Los Angeles local who calls himself an “A-list entertainment journalist,” a “TV, film, and music producer,” an “A&E editor actor,” and a host of other job titles, was arrested Sunday night at the post-Oscars Governors Ball, charged with grand theft soon thereafter. How was he caught? How do you find the one person at a large party who had perhaps stolen a statue that was not meant for him? Look for the one filming a Facebook video and saying, “Look at it, baby. My team got this tonight. This is mine. We got it tonight, baby. Who wants to tell me congratulations? This is mine! Where’s the Jimmy Kimmel party at? I can’t believe I got this. It’s for music.”
