MTV VMAs – 2014 Nominations

VMAs 1984
While it’s never been quite clear how nominations or winners are determined — or for that matter whether it’s the performer or the nominated video’s director who is actually winning this award, or that — MTV‘s 30-year old Video Music Awards show somehow remains culturally relevant.

Last year, at the awards show, a certain former Ms. Montana danced around in a bathing suit while making a funny face, and somehow became the most famous person in America. So, all pop-culture-savvy eyes will surely be on Inglewood, California’s Forum on August 24, taking note and tweeting of whatever attention grabbing antics transpire.

As this entry’s opening suggests, the awards themselves are never really the focus of the evening — that being a combination of performers and presenters, and of course the above-referenced hijinks — but awards are all the same given out. Below is the full list of nominations.

Clicking on the highlighted items below will lead you to awesome, corresponding content (said immodestly) to be found elsewhere on PeekYou.
