Luke, Leia, and Han All Spotted in London (UPDATED: Cast Announced)

Star Wars - Simpler Times
It’s nearly no secret at all that the leads from the original Star Wars trilogy — Mark Hamill (PeekYou profile here), Carrie Fisher (PeekYou profile here), and Harrison Ford (PeekYou profile here) — will be returning for next year’s outrageously anticipated Star Wars: Episode VII; from Disney and director J.J. Abrams (PeekYou profile here).

UPDATED: The cast has been announced here. Here’s an excerpt:

The “Star Wars: Episode VII” cast includes John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, Andy Serkis, Domhnall Gleeson, and Max von Sydow. They join original cast members Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill, Anthony Daniels, Peter Mayhew, and Kenny Baker.

The remainder of this entry was composed before the above was released. But, enjoy it anyway!

Elevating “poorly kept secret” to nearly “irrefutable fact” status, however, are the recent, simultaneous appearances of the three actors in London (the site of Star Wars shooting location, Pinewood Studios); leaked via social media.

British comedian Peter Serafinowicz (who voiced Darth Maul in Episode I: The Phantom Menance) posted a photo of him posing with Hamill in London on his Twitter account; coyly adding that he wondered why Hamill was in town. Carrie Fisher took to Twitter, mentioning her dog being spotted in London without her. And a photo of Ford in town has found its way to the Web as well.

Little is known about the sizes of the actors’ roles, or even if they’ll be playing their iconic characters from the first trilogy (although we certainly assume they are). In fact, little is known about the film at all.

It is being said that Disney plans on making a bit of a thing out of this year’s rapidly approaching Star Wars Day (on May 4th; as in “May the Fourth Be With You”), and a big official casting announcement might come along then.

It was announced earlier that Chewbacca actor, Peter Mayhew (PeekYou profile here), will be returning. And series creator, George Lucas (PeekYou profile here), while no longer the ship’s captain, is involved in a crucial consulting role.
