JAY-Z Surprises Fans On Black Friday With Videos For “Legacy,” “Smile” & “Marcy Me”
JAY-Z decided Black Friday (November 24) was the ideal time to unveil three videos for three singles that appear on his latest album, 4:44. The visual for “Legacy,” which stars actors like Susan Sarandon, Ron Perlman and Jesse Williams, is a nearly 11-minute short film that takes place in a prison.
The video for “Smile” features Hov’s mother Gloria Carter, and explores her past as a young woman and mother. Clocking in at almost nine-minutes, the visual touches on Gloria’s sexuality and the realization she preferred women over men.
