John Tavares To Miss Rest of NHL Season Due to Olympic Injury

John Tavares
John Tavares (PeekYou profile here), of the NHL‘s New York Islanders, suffered a knee injury while playing for Canada in the Olympics, on Wednesday, and will miss the remainder of the NHL season as a result.

This is definitely a blow for Canada — who defeated Latvia 2-1 in the game where Tavares was injured — as they advance into the semifinal game against the U.S. on Friday.

The Islanders are also hurt by this, as they have lost their captain, and biggest star. From what we’ve read, however, they are in last place in their division, and are among the teams with the fewest points in their NHL conference. So, maybe this isn’t the worst season to be sitting out.

But we kid.

We of course wish him well. We also wish that you — should you be a hockey and/or Islanders fan, or a fan of Canada specifically, or Olympic hockey in general, or simply feeling like clicking on things — would take a moment to visit John’s PeekYou profile; where you’ll find a plethora of links to all sorts of digital goodies, relating to John and his career.
