Brian Boitano (PeekYou profile here), the 1988 Olympic gold medalist figure skater, announced today that he is gay. His announcement comes on the heels of his being named by President Obama as part of the official U.S. delegation to the 2014 Sochi Olympics.

In his statement, Brian said, in part, “I am many things: a son, a brother, and uncle, a friend, an athlete, a cook, an author, and being gay is just one part of who I am.”
