Zora Neale Hurston is Trending: How Cool is That?

Zora Neale Hurston
Thanks to a Google Doodle marking what would have been her 123rd birthday, legendary Harlem Renaissance author and anthropologist, Zora Neale Hurston (PeekYou profile here), is heavily trending at the moment.

Best known for her 1937 novel, Their Eyes Were Watching God, the prolific Hurston — the daughter of two former slaves — led a frequently turbulent, and unjustly troubled life. Her work went all but forgotten for decades, but an eventual and substantial critical reevaluation restored her legacy.

We won’t attempt a proper biography here, as we could hardly do Ms. Hurston justice. A visit to her PeekYou profile, however, will lead you to many thoughtful and informative articles, as well as videos, and Ms. Hurston’s own writings. And you can’t do better than that.
