Where are the Cast of ‘Empire Records,’ 20 Years Later?

Empire Records
When released into theaters in 1995, the youth-oriented workplace comedy, Empire Records, was a colossal flop; not even vaguely recouping a tiny percentage of its nearly $10 million budget.

Ostensibly a flick about, and for, the fabled Generation X, its intended audience barely registered its existence. The subsequent generation, however, those sweet Millennials, came to later discover the film on cable and VHS, and claim it as their own. Now, in 2015, it’s something of a classic with those who were born in the 80s and later.

While the film actually hit theaters — for what wound up being its very limited engagement — in September of 1995, April 8th marks what fans have dubbed Rex Manning Day; which is, in the flick’s plot, the day the film takes place.

BuzzFeed writes of the movie’s production and the subsequent phenomenon in vastly greater depth here.
