‘Veep’ Makes Nice with the Actual Veep
We’re not commenting on Mr. Biden, or his boss, as we steer well clear of such conversation, we’re simply speaking to the integrity of Veep, and it’s extraordinarily gifted creator, Armando Iannucci (PeekYou profile here); who has consistently been one of the English speaking world’s most incisive satirists for over 20-years now.
Seeing Iannucci buddy up to a branch of our government he hilariously portrays as being exclusively populated by manipulative neurotics, driven not by ideology or policy, but by an obsessive hunt for glory and power (or to even simply be within the sphere of same), is a bit disappointing. Indeed, this clip — which was created by Iannucci and his team — seems like the sort of goofy, unserious beltway, showbiz shenanigans he’d ridicule.
But hey, we know people will say “lighten up, it’s just a TV show.” And, as it turns out, they’re right.
Anyway…
The clip, confusingly enough, features Veep‘s exceptionally gifted star, Julia Louis-Dreyfus (PeekYou profile here), in character as the fictional U.S. vice president Selina Meyer; but in a world where Joe Biden is Vice President to Barack Obama. We didn’t quite get it, but perhaps we didn’t watch too closely, put off as we were by the whole thing.
First Lady, Michelle Obama (PeekYou profile here) also appears.
Check out the clip for yourself below, and probably enjoy it as it seems most people have, and then visit the PeekYou profiles of the diverse group of individuals cited above; populated, as they are, with links aplenty, to social pages, business pages, homepages, fan pages, videos, photos, ways to purchase books and movies, and much, much more.
