The Smiths Announce Deluxe Reissue of The Queen Is Dead
The Smiths have announced the deluxe reissue of their seminal album The Queen is Dead. The double-disc set and CD/DVD box are due October 20 through Warner Bros. Records. Along with the remastered tracks, the set includes the band’s first take of “There is a Light That Never Goes Out”—which you can hear below—and a demo version of their Louder Than Bombs track “Rubber Ring,” as well as new masters of B-sides. There’s also a previously unreleased live album, recorded at the Great Woods Center for the Performing Arts on August 5, 1986, and a DVD featuring Derek Jarman’s The Queen Is Dead film. Back in June, the Smiths released vinyl singles of the title track, in both 7” and 12” versions, as well as B-sides “Oscillate Wildly,” “Money Changes Everything,” and “The Draize Train.” Check out the artwork and tracklist below.
