The Return of Steve Perry?

Steve Perry
Slightly reclusive, and mostly retired former Journey lead-vocalist, Steve Perry (PeekYou profile here), made a surprise onstage appearance this weekend with The Eels; marking the first time in 19 years that he’s performed in public.

Perry, apparently an Eels admirer, joined the group in St. Paul, Minnesota in front of 1,000 clearly surprised — and seemingly at first even a little confused — fans. He lent his powerful and highly regarded — if slightly rusty — pipes to their song “It’s a [Expletive Deleted]” (Google for proper title), before treating the assembled to renditions of Journey’s “Open Arms” and their Sam Cooke homage, “Lovin’, Touchin’, Squeezin’.”

What this might mean for Perry’s future is anyone’s guess, but today a lot of late-era boomers are buzzing with excitement over the possibilities. A visit to Steve’s PeekYou profile will lead you to music, of course, as well as videos, photos, articles, interviews, fan pages, and much more.
