The 1979 Sears Holiday Catalog

Sears Wish Book
For the past few years, some of us around here have adopted a holiday-time tradition to nudge us along in our willing and dewy-eyed descent into wistful recollection and nostalgic longing. To remember “simpler times,” we revisit the magical covetousness of our youths, in the form of the 1979 Sears Wish Book (used in childhood merely as inspiration for our letters to Santa, naturally); which a Flickr user was kind enough to scan and upload quite a number of years ago now.

Even if you’re too old, or too young, for this specific year of 1979 to resonate, we suspect you still might get a fleeting warm fuzzy from the experience, and be prompted to sniff out your own memories in the ether. Not wanting to hog all the sentimentality for ourselves, we insist you check it out here.
