Grandaddy have unveiled “Evermore,” another new track off their upcoming Last Place, the Modesto, California alt-rockers first LP in 11 years.
Like its Last Placepredecessor “Way We Won’t,” “Nevermore” chugs along on an ascending synth melody as frontman Jason Lytle pairs the electronic elements of the music with earthier lyrics about trees dying on the side of a freeway.
Modesto, California band Grandaddy released the video for new single, “A Lost Machine.” The space-rock ballad weaves synths with piano as Jason Lytle transports the listener to a solemn scene, like seeking “temporary shelter at the roller rink.”
Lytle says the ethereal track is a significant part of Last Place, Grandaddy’s first album in a decade. “Every now and then I luck out and get a pretty good idea of what a song wants to be before I dig in and start working on it,” he said….
