Music by David Bowie, Prince, N.W.A, Nirvana and More Added to Grammy Hall of Fame
Other additions include The Jackson 5’s “ABC,” Elvis Presley’s “Jailhouse Rock,” Billie Holiday’s ‘Lady Sings the Blues,’ Merle Haggard’s ‘Okie From Muskogee’ and The Beach Boys’ “I Get Around.”
The Recording Academy on Monday announced 25 new musical works that will be added to the Grammy Hall of Fame, including pieces by Prince, David Bowie, Nirvana, N.W.A and more.
“The Grammy Hall of Fame represents all genres of music, acknowledging the diversity of musical expression for which The Academy has become renowned,” said The Recording Academy president and CEO Neil Portnow in a statement. “Memorable and inspiring, these recordings are proudly added to our growing catalog and are an integral part of our musical, social and cultural history.”
