Rutgers great Mohamed Sanu’s quiet actions inspire anonymous family to send note

PISCATAWAY — Mohamed Sanu was in the spotlight Saturday as he coached the Rutgers football spring game.

But it’s Sanu’s actions when nobody was watching — or when he thought nobody was watching — that made national headlines.

Sanu received a heartwarming note from an anonymous family and Tweeted a picture of it Friday night.

According to the note, Sanu was sitting in front of the family’s 10-year-old son on a recent flight and was observed making healthy snack choices, studying his playbook and showing courteous manners to everyone around him.

“You are an inspiration to children,” the family wrote, “and for that you should be proud.”
