Romo expected to be released in next 2 weeks

The Dallas Cowboys have tried hard to make a trade involving Tony Romo.

But the team’s efforts appear to have hit a snag, leading them to consider releasing the 13-year quarterback.

The Dallas Morning News reports that the team is expected to release Romo within the next two weeks. It would mean that Romo would leave the only team he has ever played for in his NFL career.

That move would free up about $5 million in cap space and allow the team to start addressing other needs in free agency.
