Microsoft Names Satya Nadella Its Newest CEO

As reported by Time here — as well as everybody else, everywhere else — it was announced on Monday that as of February 4th, longtime Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer (PeekYou profile here) will be stepping down, with his replacement being Satya Nadella (PeekYou profile here); previously best known for having run the company’s Cloud and Enterprise group.

Company founder and chairman, Bill Gates, will also be giving up his chair and assuming the role of “technology advisor.” Of Nadella’s appointment, Gates said in a prepared statement, “During this time of transformation, there is no better person to lead Microsoft than Satya Nadella.”
