Kanye Commands Fans with Disabilities to Stand

Kanye
During an Australian concert this weekend, Mr. Yeezy Kardashian — or Kanye West, if you will — ordered his audience to its feet, no able-bodied exceptions, before he’d proceed with the performance.

He explained that unless one was legitimately disabled, with special parking privileges and the like, standing was mandatory. With houselights up, West perused the sizable crowd and noted two still seated spectators.

One of the non-standing, paying attendees actually waved a prosthetic limb in the air to demonstrate exemption from Mr. West’s insistence (which to his credit, we suppose, he accepted). While the audience did all in its power to communicate to Kanye that the other seated audience member was wheelchair-bound, West was not satisfied until dispatching his bodyguard into the crowd to make certain.

Only once satisfied that all in attendance who could stand were doing so would he proceed, which he then apparently did (we realize the subject line is inaccurate, but we wanted to keep it snappy… and it’s frankly closer to true than you’d think). It’s been suggested by most on the Internet, in the wake of this event, that Mr. West is something of a jackass. We have no opinion, but will offer that such things have apparently been suggested before.

BuzzFeed offers a BuzzFeed-ish take on things here.
