Federal Reserve vice-chairman, Janet Yellen (PeekYou profile here), has been confirmed by the U.S. Senate — with a vote of 56 to 26 in her favor — to succeed Ben Bernanke as the Fed’s head honcho when his second term wraps up at the end of this month.

When appointed, she will be the first ever woman to hold the position.
