Improv Everywhere was formed in New York City, in 2001, by Charlie Todd (PeekYou profile here). From the very beginning, they’ve delivered on their slogan “We Cause Scenes,” staging elaborate pranks and theatrical incidents, in a vast array of public spaces.

In the clip embedded above, which is just beginning to catch YouTube fire, the Winter Olympics (or a major event along those lines), or at least the surrounding pomp and ceremony, are employed to give New Yorkers a blast of unexpected excitement and involvement.
