HBO announced Thursday that it’s teaming up with the team behind the Emmy-winning 2012 TV movie “Game Change” for a miniseries based on the 2016 election season.

Mark Halperin and John Heilemann co-authored “Game Change: Obama and the Clintons, McCain and Palin, and the Race of a Lifetime” in 2010, based on the 2008 election. They followed it up with “Double Down: Game Change 2012” two years later.
