Germaine de Randamie defends “dirty shots” at UFC 208, offers Holly Holm rematch
Less than one week ago, reigning UFC women’s featherweight Germaine de Randamie won the promotion’s inaugural 145-pound title with hard fought decision over former bantamweight champion Holly Holm at UFC 208 in Brooklyn.
But what should have been the proudest moment of her career has quickly become one of the most controversial fights of the year.
In a surreal scene the Dutch native was seen throwing, and landing, punches after the horn sounded to end both the second and third rounds of the title fight. While many were quick to point fingers at both de Randamie and referee Todd Anderson, the newly crowned champ broke her silence and defended her actions.
