Cory Booker Elected to U.S. Senate

Let Them Eat Hot Pockets
Cory Booker, the popular and charismatic Newark, New Jersey mayor, known for reversing that city’s fortunes (at least a bit), and for things such as pulling his neighbors out of a burning house, has been making headlines this week.

In a special election held on Wednesday, to see who would fill the U.S. Senate seat vacated by the death of veteran senator Frank Lautenberg this past June, Booker defeated Republican candidate Steve Lonegan by an 11 point lead. Reuters reports of it all here.
