Conan O’Brien Remembers Robin Williams

Robin Williams
On Monday, Conan O’Brien was in the midst or taping that evening’s episode of Conan for TBS when he received word of Robin Williams‘ death.

He interrupted the program to acknowledge the news (which you can see below), and along with sidekick Andy Richter and guest Will Arnett, paid a quick tribute to the widely beloved comedian and late-night talk show staple.

On Tuesday night’s show, with the world having fully absorbed and accepted the loss, Conan took a moment to offer a more thoughtful and deliberate tribute.

Conan’s reminiscence is only one of a countless many like it to appear throughout the world and across all media. The most striking similarity in all the testimonies of those who knew and/or worked with Williams was the opinion that he was a monumentally kind, generous, and thoughtful man, in addition to his being a hilarious one.

One notable memorial came on Monday night, when comedian Norm MacDonald took to Twitter to offer a poignant anecdote — which may just make you laugh and cry — which you can read about here.

Williams’ suicide has birthed a much-needed worldwide dialogue on depression. If you believe you may be suffering from depression yourself, talk to someone, and please seek help. Treatment is available, and you are not alone. Forbes ran a piece outlining “Five Common Myths About Depression” here.
