Aronofsky to Adapt Atwood for HBO

Atwood Aronofsky
Black Swan and The Wrestler director, Darren Aronofsky (PeekYou profile here), is said to have a new project in development at HBO.

With an announced title of MaddAddam, it’s to be an adaptation Margaret Atwood’s (PeekYou profile here) dystopian speculative-fiction trilogy; Oryx and Crake (2003), Year Of The Flood (2009), and MaddAddam (2013).

It is believed at this time that Aronofsky might also direct. Should it come to fruition, it will be the first project to come out of the deal Aronofsky and his production company, Protozoa Pictures, inked with HBO earlier this year.

Aronofsky’s most recent flick — the Russell Crowe starring biblical epic, Noah — grossed $345 million worldwide this year.
