Five-time Oscar nominated actress, Amy Adams (PeekYou profile here), did a very nice thing during a flight from Detroit to Los Angeles on Friday.

The celebrated performer traded her first-class seat with an American serviceman who was also on the plane; opting to take his coach seat instead.

News of the act of generosity hit Twitter when Jemele Hill, co-host of ESPN‘s Numbers Never Lie, who was also on the flight, tweeted out the below:

“When we were waiting to board, I saw her glance the soldier’s way and then she said something to the person she was traveling with,” Hill said in an email to Today.com. “Once we boarded, I saw she was in first class. I was upgraded to first class and she was a couple rows behind me. I think she must have said something to the flight attendant, because before we took off she had vacated her seat and the flight attendant brought the soldier to her seat.”

Hill added, “I just thought it was incredibly classy and thoughtful. I already was a fan of hers, but now I’m a bigger one after today.”

The passenger who wound up sitting next to Adams for the flight’s duration posted the following picture and tweet-length anecdote:

As unabashed supporters of America’s brave service members, and being well aware of just how amazing first-class is in comparison to coach, our hats are off to Ms. Adams, as well as the young man whose afternoon she improved.

Comedian Louis CK (PeekYou profile here) once did a bit regarding this very specific act, and his failure to ever actually commit it. Perhaps this is from where Ms. Adams got the idea. Check it out below. (WARNING: PROFANITY):
