Alec Baldwin Leaving Public Life

Alec Baldwin
On Sunday night, actor Alec Baldwin (PeekYou profile here) took to New York Magazine‘s Vulture blog with a 5,000 word essay declaring that he is through with public life.

In the piece, which you can read here, the one time star of 30 Rock, and Oscar nominated actor declared, “I loathe and despise the media in a way I did not think possible.” Adding, “this is the last time I’m going to talk about my personal life in an American publication ever again.”

Pretty much every one of Baldwin’s controversies of recent years is addressed — from his angry answering machine message to his daughter, to his online dust-up with Shia LaBeouf, to his allegedly bigoted outburst directed toward a paparazzo — and attempts are made to clarify and/or defend his position in each one.
