Alicia Keys Recalls Seeking Prince’s Approval, Sings as Adele on ‘The Tonight Show’
Last night, Alicia Keys appeared on NBC’s The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon to promote the network’s 12th season of The Voice. The “Girl on Fire” singer became a coach in the previous season, and hopes to capture the title in her second stint.
During her appearance, Keys discussed covering Prince’s 1982 ballad “How Come U Don’t Call Anymore” for her debut album, Songs in A Minor. She recalled the nerve-racking phone call where she had to ask for the late rock legend’s approval.
