Ariana Grande Apologizes (Again) for the Whole Gross “Licking Donuts” Thing
The video, which took the Internet by storm this past summer, showed the diminutive superstar twice lick donuts sitting on a display rack while a clerk’s back was turned. Also adding, apparently, “I hate America” and/or “I hate Americans.”
We think she also made out with a dude at some point in the video as well, and that was also worthy of note to many observers at the time.
Anyway, on Tuesday, Ariana took to ABC‘s Good Morning America to discuss some “passion project” or another. But, since it was her first TV appearance since handling dessert foods in such a frankly unsanitary manner, the 22-year old was forced to speak on the matter a bit directly.
“First of all, I mean, my behavior was very offensive, and I apologized. There’s no excuse or there’s nothing to justify it.
As human beings we all say and do things that we don’t mean at all sometimes, and we have to learn from it. I think one of the biggest things I learned from that was what it feels like to disappoint so many people who love and believe in you, and that’s an excruciating feeling.”
In terms of this being a viral story this morning, this is purely a double dip as Ariana took to YouTube to apologize for the incident earlier in the summer. But now she’s done it on network TV, and while promoting a brand new fragrance (ostensibly the reason for her appearance on the show, promoting the release of her new perfume Ari by Ariana Grande).
