Watching an older person attempting to wrap his or her head around contemporary slang may seem an easy gag. When that older person is a legendary, 83-year old former news anchor, however, the end result is far more amusing than you may think.

The good folks at BuzzFeed have bestowed upon us two minutes of simple pleasure. Dan Rather, the former anchor of the CBS Evening News, sat down with the ubiquitous content provider, while they hit him with a few relatively modern bits of jargon, and had him hazard his best guesses at definitions.

“On fleek,” “dadbod, and “lit” are among the terms discussed.
