Eagles release QB Chase Daniel a year after signing him to $21 million deal

The Philadelphia Eagles released quarterback Chase Daniel on Monday, a year after the club signed the 30-year-old quarterback to a three-year, $21 million deal.

“Chase’s professionalism and intelligence were valuable assets to our quarterback room,” Eagles GM Howie Roseman said in a statement. “His veteran leadership was incredibly helpful in Carson [Wentz’s] development as a rookie, and his familiarity with Coach [Doug] Pederson’s offense was instrumental in installing our system last season.
