Setting the Record Straight: Yes, Lorde and Taylor Swift Are Still Besties But There’s No Such Thing As a ‘Squad’
Without a doubt, Lorde is one of the most famous and low-key members of Taylor Swift’s squad.
So of course everyone jumped up in total shock when during an interview with Australia’s Sunsrise, the “Green Light” singer kind of admitted to not really being friends with Taylor, despite all the love they’ve shown one another throughout the years.
This all started when she was asked by the interviewer what it was like to first watch all these artists she admired from afar, to then joining their circle of friends – and of course the “Shake It Off” singer’s name was thrown into that mix along with the likes of Beyoncé.
Lorde’s response was, “The second you think too hard about it, you’ll just go insane. It’s best to be like, We’re in wonderland and it’s just what happens around here. Also, I don’t hang-out with these people at all.”
Everyone was taken by surprise by that statement, even the interviewer who couldn’t help but bring up her most famous bestie by blurting out, “but you’re part of Taylor’s squad! All the magazines tell us.”
