One Direction’s Louis Tomlinson Goes Solo With Steve Aoki Collab ‘Just Hold On’

Yesterday, Louis Tomlinson, one of the five original One Direction members, finally released his first solo single, officially kicking off what could be an exciting and somewhat unexpected second leg to his already impressive career.

The former boy band member teamed up with electronic dance producer and label boss Steve Aoki for the powerful tune “Just Hold On,” which sees him going in a new direction that many wouldn’t have anticipated from Tomlinson. The pairing took to the stage on The X Factor UK to debut the track live, bringing EDM to a television program which is more accustomed to pure pop and the classics. The showing went off without a hitch, and though Tomlinson’s vocals seemed somewhat thin when separated from the group, the song is catchy, high-energy, and the singer seemed happy to be performing.
