Malala Yousafzai

Malala
Malala Yousafzai is an extraordinary young woman, by any measure.

An outspoken advocate for women’s education in her homeland of Pakistan, Malala was nearly killed by a Taliban gunman one year ago. Recovering from the shooting, she has remained undaunted in spreading her message of peace and education for all; despite the Taliban’s continued threats against her and her father. She is one of the nominees for this year’s Nobel Peace Prize, and has been honored numerous times, by many organizations, throughout the past year. CNN speaks of one such honor here.
