Lupita Nyong’o Named People Magazine’s ‘Most Beautiful’ Person

Lupita Nyong'o
While we don’t know from “most beautiful” anything — as that’s all quite subjective — we do agree with People Magazine‘s assessment of Oscar winning actress, Lupita Nyong’o (PeekYou profile here); she sure is really, really good looking.

She’s also a heck of an actress. Both of these factors, no doubt, contributed to Lupita topping People‘s newest list of the world’s 50 Most Beautiful People.

Born in Mexico and raised in Kenya, Nyong’o explained her once skewed perception of beauty to People:

Nyong’o first equated beauty with what she saw on television: “Light skin and long, flowing, straight hair,” she says. “Subconsciously you start to appreciate those things more than what you possess.” Her mother, Dorothy, who is the managing director and head of PR for the Africa Cancer Foundation, “always said I was beautiful,” Nyong’o adds. “And I finally believed her at some point.”
