Early this year, the news hit that Louis CK and Zach Galifianakis were developing a TV show for FX. Fans of the pair of zaftig, hirsute funnymen rejoiced at the possibility.

Well, the news has hit that FX has ordered a 10 episode first season of the program, upon viewing and loving the pilot.

The pilot was directed by Jonathan Krisel — a writer for IFC‘s Portlandia and Adult Swim‘s Tim and Eric Awesome Show, Great Job! — who will be the series’ showrunner.

The show, which will be called Baskets, is described by FX as such:

In a world constrained by corporate interests and the homogenization of society, one man in Bakersfield, California dares to follow his dream of becoming a professional clown. But after an unsuccessful enrollment at a prestigious clowning school in Paris, the only job he can find is with the local rodeo. Baskets follows Chip Baskets’ (Galifianakis) pursuit of his dream, against all odds, to be a respected clown.

FX executive Eric Schrier says, “To say Zach’s portrayal of the lead character Chip Baskets is hilarious/unique/riveting/fascinating would be an understatement.” Adding, “We can’t wait for the world to meet him.”

Alas, it seems we won’t get to meet him until 2016. In the meantime, however, clicking CK’s and Galifianakis’ highlighted names above will lead you to many far flung corners of the Internet, where much in the way of brilliant comedy can be found.
