Long-time Saturday Night Live cast-member, Kenan Thompson is trending across Twitter at the moment for a quote he may now be wishing he’d phrased slightly differently.

In a recent TV Guide article (which you can read here), when addressing the current SNL cast’s lack of diversity, specifically the complete absence of any African American female cast-members, Kenan suggested that it all simply came down to a shortage of African American women up to the task. At least a shortage of such women among those auditioning for SNL. Unsurprisingly, this is not the most popular thing Kenan’s done.
