Happy National ‘Mean Girls’ Day!

Mean Girls - Lohan and Fey
Dominating Twitter on Friday — October 3rd — is National Mean Girls Day. A celebration of all things related to the 2004 Tina Fey scripted, Lindsay Lohan starring cult hit Mean Girls.

So goes the voiceover of Lohan’s Cady Heron in the film; “On October 3rd, he asked me what day it was.” A question to which we then see her respond to Aaron Samuels (played by Jonathan Bennett), “It’s October 3rd.”

Therefore, that day is (or this day, if you’re reading this on October 3rd) — on the Internet particularly, and seemingly in more than one nation — #NationalMeanGirlsDay (or #MeanGirlsAppreciationDay). A day for us all to commemorate the time when Tina Fey wasn’t quite a household name and Lindsay Lohan was taken somewhat seriously.

In addition to Lohan, Mean Girls of course starred Amanda Seyfried, Lizzy Caplan, and Rachel McAdams. With Amy Poehler and even Ms. Fey herself turning up.

It is, in fact, a very funny film. So, have at it Internet!
