Yesterday, Michael Hussey, the CEO of PeekYou, sat down with Eileen Yu of ZDNet regarding the importance of securing one’s online social identity after the recent events with Mark Zuckerberg’s Facebook page. So last week we setup our corporate Flickr account and are pretty excited to start posting pictures to it. We already have a few pictures up of the new office including our awesome new conference table and very fun bar area.

Recently you may have noticed that we are growing by leaps and bounds. Last week, our nimble startup passed yet another milestone by serving over 1,000,000 visits in one week. Between January 9th and January 15th, PeekYou.com had over 1,011,659 visits! We’re witnessing close to 8% week over week growth right now. At this rate, we could be serving 2,000,000 site visits per week in April!

As a follow up, we are also gaining momentum according to Quantcast. As of January 16th, 2011, PeekYou.com was ranked 809 for US based websites. Woo hoo! That means we now rank higher than US Search, Suntrust, The White House, Oracle, Qwest and the Sun Times, according to Quantcast.

It seems like only yesterday that we hit our Quantcast ranking of 1,000. PeekYou has hit yet another milestone in our growth. Today, at approximately 3pm EST according to Google Analytics, we served over 10,000 visits in 1 hour. Wow! Currently, the site is growing by leaps and bounds, by almost 10-15% week over week in terms of site visits. This is clearly affecting our Quantcast rankings, where we have climbed almost 150 spots to 863 since the beginning of the new year. We are now ranked higher than other popular websites such as posterous.com, bebo.com, hotels.com, cheapflights.com and pizzahut.com.

Over the past few weeks, PeekYou has been experiencing record traffic and we are very excited about this! Our development team has been working diligently on a few site improvements to make sure that pages load faster for users. A number of you have reached out to us and we appreciate your comments; keep sending them! Visitors who have consistently visited PeekYou.com will notice some of these improvements through search result caching, image pre-loading, etc. resulting in a better overall user experiencing moving forward.

As we continue with site improvements, we also want to let you know that we are currently working on updating a personal suite of tools that will allow users to have much more interactivity with our site. As you already know, users who wish to edit or add information to profiles are currently unable to do so. Over the next 2 months, we hope to roll out a revamped tool that will allow users to make changes and stay up-to-date with change alerts from PeekYou.com.
