From Pleasanton, California’s Patch.com blog we have learned of a local man named John Flotten, who is to be honored as a Community Service Hero by the Bay Area chapter of the American Red Cross.

John is being honored for the thousands of hours he’s volunteered to the Valley Humane Society, being involved with things such as their pet therapy programs, and efforts to distribute pet food to low income families.
