‘Big Bang Theory’ Leads Ink New Deals for Big Money

Big Bang Theory
After extensive negotiations, and even a brief delay in production, the three principal stars of CBS‘ hugely high-rated sitcom, The Big Bang TheoryJim Parsons, Johnny Galecki, and Kaley Cuoco — have each just signed big fat, lucrative deal for the next three seasons.

Simon Helberg and Kunal Nayyar — the program’s other two leads — are still hammering out their deals, but agreements are expected to be reached at some point this week.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, from which all of this information originates, Warner Bros. Television declined to comment.

The show is expected to resume production this Wednesday, after a one-week delay caused by the negotiations.

The deals the trio cut are said to see their salaries increase from the $350k per episode they had been netting, to a handsome $1 million per episode; putting them in league with the casts of Friends and Seinfeld. They’re also said to be getting a bigger piece of a the backend, which with the show a massive hit in syndication will mean a lot of money for the group.

The show averages 19.79 million viewers — which are huge numbers by the standards of modern broadcast television — and is especially strong with the extremely desirable “18-49” demographic.
