2017 NFL Combine: Mike Williams, Dede Westbrook have formal meetings with Eagles

INDIANAPOLIS — The Eagles have their eyes on the top receiver in the 2017 NFL Draft.

Speaking Friday at the NFL Scouting Combine, Clemson wide receiver Mike Williams revealed that he met with the Eagles for a formal meeting.

“It went great,” Williams said.

Williams, 6-foot-3, 225 pounds, is projected to go in the first 10 picks of the NFL Draft. The Eagles draft No. 14 overall.

The fact the Eagles used a formal meeting on Williams could be telling, as the team can only have 60 formal interviews during their week here, and there are 330 players at the Combine.

Williams finished his time at Clemson with 177 catches for 2,727 yards and 21 touchdowns.

Those hoping for a reunion this offseason between the Eagles and soon-to-be free agent DeSean Jackson could very well end up being disappointed.

In addition to Williams, the Eagles also had a formal meeting with Oklahoma receiver Dede Westbrook.

Westbrook said the Eagles asked him about his character, and the off-the-field issues during his time in college.
