New Trailer for ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ Takes Web by Storm (UPDATED)

Star Wars: The Force Awakens
On Friday, “Black Friday” in fact, the trailer for J.J. Abrams‘ insanely anticipated Star Wars: The Force Awakens (due in theaters December 2015) hit the Web like a million voices crying out at once. The voices were not, however, suddenly silenced as EVERYONE has an opinion.

UPDATED (4/16/15): This should probably have its own entry, but there’s now a new trailer finally, and it’s awesome… AND HERE IT IS:

The 88-second teaser is not boring, at least not if you’re the least bit interested in Disney‘s first shot at the franchise George Lucas first built 37 years ago. It provides we civilians our first looks at new cast members John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Oscar Isaac and, possibly, Adam Driver duded up in the appropriate finery for the galaxy far, far away.

Few moments, however, within the one-and-a-half-minute montage are bound to please crowds — old and young — more than the return of “the ship that made the Kessel Run in less than twelve parsecs,” Han Solo’s trusty old piece of junk, the Millennium Falcon. The very speedy ship, generally capable of making the jump to light speed, despite the presence of Harrison Ford‘s Solo in the flick, is rumored to now be the property of Oscar Isaac’s character.

The release is still a year off, so these hype wheels have not even gotten started. Force help us all.
